North Scientific wins seed fund to launch Dops and change the future of development

September 18, 2019

We are thrilled to announce that we have just won a seed investment of $60,000 in cash and services from District 3, Montreal’s biggest incubator, on Tuesday, September 18, 2019.

Our parent company, North Scientific, was started in 2016 as a way to help software companies adopt, automate, and scale DevOps in their organizations. Our customers loved our approach to automation and we set out to create a brand new product to make our method scalable. Earlier this year, we got accepted into the District 3 Acceleration Program to help validate our new business model, and the conversations with customers gave us all we needed to start building.

Today, this product is called Dops, an AI agent for Jira that helps companies automate their software development cycle. With yesterday’s award of $60,000, we are going to be putting all our effort into perfecting Dops to make sure that companies can make their developers more productive.

“We love software! It powers our favorite products, and helps people and companies be more productive. With Dops, we’re going to make software development infinitely easier.”

— May Al Othman, CEO of North Scientific

Thank you to District 3 Innovation Centre for helping us get started on this journey, to our incredible board of trusted advisors, and to our growing list of beta subscribers for making all of this possible.

We are looking forward to building a future where automating development operations is as seamless as logging into a website.
